Ductless Mini-Splits
Ductless Mini-Split Installation & Repair in Central Texas
Ductless mini-split systems deliver targeted, high-efficiency comfort without the need for ductwork. Ideal for room additions, garages, sunrooms, and older homes where running ducts isn't practical.
Why Choose a Ductless System?
Ductless mini-split systems have become one of the fastest-growing HVAC solutions for homeowners across Central Texas — and for good reason. They deliver precise, efficient comfort in situations where traditional ducted systems are impractical or cost-prohibitive to install.
No Ductwork Required
Install in spaces where running ductwork would be costly or impossible. Only a small hole through the wall is needed to connect the indoor and outdoor units.
Zone-by-Zone Control
Heat or cool individual rooms independently for maximum efficiency and comfort. No more cooling an entire house to keep one room comfortable.
High Efficiency
Many mini-split systems achieve SEER2 ratings far above traditional central AC systems, resulting in meaningful savings on monthly energy bills.
Heating & Cooling
Most mini-split systems provide both heating and cooling — one system, year-round comfort. Many models operate efficiently down to below-freezing outdoor temperatures.
When Is a Ductless Mini-Split the Right Choice?
Ductless systems are not right for every situation, but they are the ideal solution in a wide range of common scenarios. Wild H AC can evaluate your specific home or building and give you an honest recommendation on whether ductless is the best fit — or whether a traditional system would serve you better.
One of the most common applications in Central Texas is room additions. When a homeowner adds a bedroom, sunroom, garage apartment, or workshop, extending existing ductwork is often complicated, expensive, and hard on the current system's capacity. A ductless mini-split provides independent, high-efficiency comfort for the new space without touching the existing HVAC system.
Older homes with boiler heat or wall units — where no ductwork exists at all — are another strong candidate. Installing a ductless system is far less invasive and disruptive than a full central air installation that would require running ducts throughout the entire home.
Common Applications
Room Additions & Conversions
Bedrooms, bonus rooms, garage apartments, converted attics, and sunrooms that are not connected to the central system.
Detached Garages & Workshops
Climate-controlled workspace without the cost and complexity of extending ductwork from the main house.
Homes Without Existing Ductwork
Older homes with radiant heat, window units, or wall heaters can gain a complete comfort solution without a full duct installation.
Hot or Cold Spots in Existing Homes
Rooms that never reach comfortable temperatures due to poor duct design or distant location from the air handler.
Small Commercial Spaces
Server rooms, offices, and retail spaces that need independent temperature control separate from the main building system.
What the Installation Process Looks Like
A typical single-zone ductless installation takes between four and eight hours and requires only a small penetration through the exterior wall — about three inches in diameter — to route the refrigerant lines, power cable, and condensate drain between the indoor and outdoor units.
Wild H AC handles the complete installation from start to finish: mounting the indoor air handler, setting the outdoor condenser, running line sets, making electrical connections, charging the system with refrigerant, and testing full operation before we leave.
Multi-zone systems — where one outdoor unit serves multiple indoor units in different rooms — take longer depending on the number of zones and the complexity of the line routing, but the same clean, professional approach applies to every installation we complete.
